On April 2, 2025, Rollplast Group AD had the pleasure of hosting future professionals from the Department of Industrial Business at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE). Students from the programs Business Economics, Industrial Business, and Business Economics and Management (English track) got an up-close look at the innovations, technologies, and best practices that power one of Bulgaria’s most innovative manufacturers forward.

A Practical Glimpse into Industrial Reality

During the visit, the students had the opportunity to explore in detail the structure of Rollplast – from its production capacities and high-tech production lines to the warehouse and modern showroom. Divided into groups, they toured all seven production workshops, where advanced solutions for automation, digitalization, and sustainable process management are applied.

The guests from UNWE were especially impressed by the scale of the company, the high level of automation, and the logistical organization behind one of the largest enterprises in the window, door, and blinds manufacturing sector in Europe. They observed in real-time how modern cutting and welding machines operate, along with robotic warehouses and integrated order management systems.

Meetings with Key Management Figures

As part of the program, the students met with key members of the Rollplast management team. Dimitar Dimitrov, Trade and Installation Manager, presented the company’s commercial policy and explained how the client-centered approach, effective partnerships, and constant innovation lie at the heart of the company’s successful positioning both in the domestic and international markets. Vasil Nikolchev, Manager of Production Process Management, spoke about business digitalization – from automated planning and production tracking to the implementation of ERP systems that ensure complete transparency and efficiency at every stage of the production cycle.

Technological Innovations: Artificial Intelligence and the Virtual Showroom

A key focus during the visit was the digital transformation of Rollplast Group. Students learned about implemented innovative solutions such as:

 -Artificial intelligence supporting data analysis, forecasting, and optimization of production resources;

- A virtual showroom, offering a new digital product selection experience;

-Full automation of key production processes – from cutting to storage and logistics.

The students were impressed by the real integration between technology and management, as well as the way a Bulgarian company sets standards for Industry 4.0 in the region.

An Inspiring Encounter with the Company Founder

The highlight of the visit was a meeting with Svetlin Nikolchev, Founder and Managing Director of Rollplast Group AD. He shared his personal journey – from his student days to the decision to start his own business, through the challenges faced and the lessons that shaped him as an entrepreneur. Mr. Nikolchev inspired the students with a motivating example of how an idea, combined with perseverance, innovation, and teamwork, can create a globally recognized brand exporting windows to all seven continents.

 

Education Meets Real Business

The visit was yet another vivid example of the importance of practical training and the integration between higher education and industry. Such visits not only reveal what happens “behind the scenes” in modern companies, but also provide students with confidence, motivation, and a real perspective on their professional path.

The visit was organized in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vyara Milusheva, Head of the Department of Industrial Business, and Mr. Vasil Nikolchev on behalf of Rollplast. It is part of the company’s long-term strategy to support education, develop young talent, and strengthen the connection between business and academia.
