On June 17, 2024, a grant agreement was signed between "Rollplast Group" AD and the Ministry of Innovation and Growth for the company's approved project No. BG-RRP-3.008-0671 "Support for the Transition to a Circular Economy," financed under the Economic Transformation Program of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP), funded by the European Union.
The overall objective of the project is to increase the competitiveness and develop the potential for sustainable growth of "Rollplast Group" AD by introducing circular models into the company's production activities.
The specific objectives of the project are:
Acquisition of new technologies for the introduction of 6 (six) circular models in the enterprise;
Limiting greenhouse gas emissions resulting from production activities;
Implementation of investments compliant with the "do no significant harm" (DNSH) principle regarding the environment;
The total project value is BGN 4,241,292.30, of which BGN 999,672.60 (23.57%) is the amount of the grant.
"Rollplast Group" AD is a large enterprise primarily engaged in the production of PVC window and door frames. Within the project, the company plans to diversify its activities by launching the production of WOODEN window and door frames (initially doors). Through this new production, the company will partially replace the currently used plastic raw materials for frame production with raw materials of wood (biological) origin, as the single-use PVC frames produced by the company will be partially replaced by wooden frames, representing a bio-based product.
For this purpose, within the project, the company plans to acquire new complete equipment for the production of wooden doors, as follows:

3.AUTOMATIC VENEER SPLICING MACHINE - 1 unit

5.MILLING AND DRILLING CENTER - 1 unit
6.AUTOMATIC EDGE BANDING MACHINE - 1 unit
7.AUTOMATIC PAINTING AND DRYING LINE - 1 unit
8.PROFILE LAMINATING MACHINE - 1 unit
9.SANDING MACHINE - 1 unit
10.THERMAL PANEL LINE - 1 unit
The implementation of the new technological equipment will contribute to the introduction of 6 (six) circular models at "Rollplast Group" in the following areas:
1.REDUCING WASTE GENERATION
2.LIMITING THE USE OF SINGLE-USE PLASTIC PRODUCTS
3.USING RESOURCES OF BIOLOGICAL ORIGIN
4.IMPROVING PRODUCT ECO-DESIGN STANDARDS
5.IMPROVING PRODUCT ENERGY EFFICIENCY
6.INTRODUCING OTHER CIRCULAR ECONOMY MODELS
The investment in the new equipment under the project will contribute to accelerating the transition to a circular economy by introducing circular models and climate-neutral production methods and technologies.
